Summer jewellery!

Dear readers , today’s post , as you can see from the title ,  is about summer  jewellery which you can make yourselves, upcycling  your old accessories and necklaces .
I always try to store old and pre-loved items and use their beads , tassels, ribbons, chains  etc. to create a new piece.
I have recently created two summer necklaces using material from different sources and I’m really glad with the final outcome, that’s why I want to share them with you.

For the first one, I used a bead in the shape of a star fish which was one of the items in a necklace I bought some time ago. This necklace was a real treasure as it consisted of lovely semi -precious and glass beads, which were though put together in an non-appealing way.

I sometimes buy accessories or pieces of jewellery at low prices which I may not like, but which have a good potential in terms of upcycling!
It is cheaper to buy a necklace from a charity shop or street market and  use its beads for a new creation, rather than  buying  them  from a ‘bead-shop’ where you need to buy  larger quantities than the ones you are actually going to use .

Anyway, as I needed a new pastel-coloured necklace to go with my  golden pink hand bag , for the holidays, I combined  old and new  beads , using the star fish as the focal point and I ‘m now the proud owner of a new necklace in pastel shades of pink, gold and white. Do you like it?  I’m thrilled with the outcome and I’ looking forward to wearing it!!!

I also used the same upcycling method for the second piece of jewellery I’m presenting you today.
This one has the colours of summer: aqua , light blue, and yellow. I used a small yellow tassel here and some metal items I sourced from an old necklace.

I’m satisfied with how the beads in different shapes and colours are combined and I think the tassel gives it a lovely final touch.

Use your imagination dear readers and I’m sure you can come up with lovely things that you can make and wear to brighten up your summer outfits and your spirits!!!
Happy creations to all!!!!!!
My love,

A summer wreath

Today’s craft is a summery one.
Those of you who read my blog, know my love for wreaths. It is an ‘obsession’, actually. I can’t resist buying different frames or making them and then, decorating using either little items I make, or things I find at home or in the market.
Some days ago, I bought a box of scented , plaster sea shells , drift wood and something that looks like tree bark  ( I found it in the big blue and yellow shop).

thought of using them for creating a decorative item for a summer table.

I glued the white sea shells , drift wood etc. on a wreath and   I made this summer item  which can be used as a centrepiece for your table.
If you want to make your table look very summery , in an easy and inexpensive way, you can use a blue and white tablecloth, use crockery in shades of blue ,

add some items that remind us of summer, like a wooden seagull, seashells in various shapes, fish- shaped plates , pebbles, drift wood, glass seashells etc.

Let your  imagination free and present something pretty and welcoming for your family and friends!
Enjoy your summer meals and family gatherings !!!
My love to you all,
Tina J
