Centrepieces for Autumn with things you have at homeπŸ„πŸ‚πŸ

Hello everyone  and Happy Autumn!!! πŸ’“

I'm back today with  some  ideas for easy to  make centrepieces for this season , using what you have at home. You can use them on your dining room table,  coffe table or anywhere else you like.

So let's get started!!

I'm sure we all have  baskets , trays , plates  made of wood or other natural material , which we can use for our centrepieces. You can  place in a variety of  items related to autumn . I have used  pumpkins in different materials and sizes , pomegranates (real ones), some faux leaves , faux flowers and a tiny tree  , a butterfly and a miniature  owl and of course a candle in  autumnal colours . It is a  good  idea to use 'little creatures' of the forest and  the farm  to bring more life to your composition.  You can use tortoises, birds, owls, butterflies , dragon flies etc.

In the picture below, I've used a wooden plate I bought from IKEA some years ago.  I added  fabric pumpkins that I've made myself,  a mushroom made of felt, an aromatic candle, a pomegranate and  a rosary I made using wooden beads. There is an abundance of tutorials  in You Tube  which show you how to make fabric pumpkins  in really easy  ways . That's how I learnt how to make mine and I can tell you it is not only easy but the result is very satisfactory , as well.

In the next picture, you can see a wooden wheel barrow,  I've had  mine for many years and I use it  for my decorations  all year round.
I have used the same items as above, but in different combinations .Some potpourri on the tablecloth , tiny, white pumpkins I made with clay that dries in the air , red velvet pumpkins and  pomegranates from a tree in my neighbourhood!! I lit my candle and voila!!!

Next idea,
Use a bird cage and again decorate it with tiny items like pumpkins , wooden mushrooms and potpourri. I think it's quite cute!! But  what do you think??

Another idea -especially if the space available is limited -  is to use a  small tray with a candle in the middle and just two or three more items, like pumpkins, pomegranates , mushrooms etc. Light candles in pretty lanterns and you have a lovely , cosy and chic centrepiece !!!

Real flowers in a vase in the middle of your table are also an excellent choice. My favourite ones are sunflowers because of their fantastic and very autumnal colour. You can also buy a pot of cyclamens, as well. They are very pretty and as they grow during this season, very appropriate for your Fall decor.
I hope you liked my ideas. I really, really enjoyed creating them for you and taking the pictures.
I will leave you for now with  some photos from the beach which I took some days ago. It was still warm, but there was a chill in the breeze which made it clear that the season has changed and made us seek 'refuge' inside a beach cafe  to enjoy our cappucinnos  and  unlimited views to the wavy sea!

Good bye for now, have fun and good health and find time to make and do things that you love!!!!!

Fall home decor

Hello and welcome back to my blog !πŸ’“

Today's post is about decorating for Fall using what you have at home!

I didn't actually buy any new items ,  I just shopped around my house for things that I already had  in store.

Autumn is all about mellow colours, yellows, burgundies ,copper browns,  golden hues  and  dark greens.

I happen to have cushions and throws plus some wreaths and  faux flowers in these colours, in addition to the  fabric and plastic pumpkins I use every year and by arranging them together  I manage to give  my space  a happy , fresh and cosy  autumnal look. But what do you think?πŸ˜ƒ

I started with my balcony - one of my happy spaces at home- where I have my morning coffee and    relax in the afternoons. I always like to make it feel and look  like an extra room ,  an outdoors cosy living room!
Next comes the kitchen .  We spend so much time in it  , it deserves to be treated  like a 'queen'!!πŸ˜„

I  love having  tea and  coffee here , long leisurely breakfasts on Sunday mornings and  hot beverages on chilly  evenings. Pure bliss!!

I always decorate  the kitchen for the different seasons  and festivals and  this is such a pleasure ........!!!

Our family room is colourful all year round and for Fall I have chosen these vibrant yellows, coppers and reds  for cushions and throws, plus fresh flowers and some faux leaves, pine cones and pumpkins  in various arrangements . The glow of tea lights adds to the warm atmosphere and makes the room more welcoming.

I hope you liked this little tour of my  home and  got some ideas to try  in your house to make it  warm, cosy and welcoming   for this season and all year round!!
I wish you all the very best , health , love and peace of  mind and soul.

My love,

Summer to Fall

 Hello , hello !!!

It's beeen so long !!! It's so  nice to be back after so many months . I have really , really missed my little cyber space and our contact!!  I have meant to post since summer , but due to technical problems I never made it. But I'm here today with the 'photo album' of these last months.

I was very fortunate to have a lovely summer time. We visited various holiday destinations in Greece and really relaxed, after the long and hectic winter and spring time.

the photos above are from the very picturesque and  of great historical interest,   Nafplion.
Naxos island , in the Cyclades ,offers visitors an abudance of aesthetic and culinary pleasures.  I love the maze of little white-washed houses  that comprise its main town , Hora . Blue, white, turquoise colours everywhere and so many lovely  gift shops and art galleries. You just can't resist them!!

I  had to post the following pics of flowers from my summer balcony pots , garden and vases .
I love their vibrant 'sunny' colours !!

I saw this on the sky  while I was on the beach at the end of August . Very unusual!!
and then  September arrived  and summer soon  faded  away.....

Warmer colours and aromatic filter coffee ,
yellows and oranges, burgundies and off-whites, pumpkins and tea lights at home.
walks in the hills  near my house,

cyclamens, my most favourite flowers

handmade fabric pumpkins
and of course  some crochet for a new blanket.
                                               Mellow autumnal colours

and some fall decor at home

I love enjoying a cup of tea by the fireplace with  the fairy lights on and my scented candles.
Warm colours are so soothing .

Pine cones ar a must for fall decor .

Well , I hope you liked my little photo album  and took some ideas  for your home decor.
My best wishes to you all. I hope to be back soon with some Christmassy content.
Love,
