Two mirrors and a lamp 💟

Hello!!!
Today's post is about giving new life to old and neglected items that we have at home and just don't bother about them because we take their looks for granted,  though they may not appeal to our aesthetic values!

OK, in my case it was a mirror that I have had for ages and another one which was given two me many moons ago and it was left hanging on a balcony wall gathering dust and fighting with the elements❄🌞☔
I had been thinking about doing something with them but some how  this never happened.  But suddenly , this chaotic and  terrifying in many ways spring, I felt this urge for  changing certain things that disturbed my senses and  I started with these two!
They were both painted with chalk paint and well,I am very happy with how they turned out. I like their contemporary stylish look and with the right decorative touches they look great.What do you think?

At a time things were not that good  for me, I started crocheting some tiny flowers with leftover yarn . I wanted to do something to keep my fingers busy and I crocheted so many of them that I felt it would have been a pity not to use them in a way and suddenly,  I had a eureka moment!. Wow!!!
I used them to embellish a lampshade I  had recently bought but which I found very plain for my taste. My lamp looks so feminine and sweet and I love love love this transformation.
So finally , I have now three new items I like very much and I have spent almost nothing for them! Fantastic!!!

One last thing I have recently made is  this
'happy camper'canvas . I used left over fabric and glued all tiny parts on canvas . I wish it was real. I could choose a perfect destination for us to travel to!

P.S. I  realised that all the colours of my makes and  in my house are so similar to colours I see around me in nature these days! So I have  made these collages  of  things at home and flowers in the fIelds and my pots . xxx

A brand new month!🌼🌻🌸🌹

 Hello everyone and happy new month
 I hope you are all just fine, safe and healthy.  The lockdown  is gradually coming to an end here in Greece though restrictions are still  strict. Anyway I don't wish to talk more about the tough times and all sorts of  unpleasant situations we have all experienced.  I want to focus only on the bright side of things and May is the month that definitely can help towards this positive mentality .

I have recently spent a little more time wandering around my neighbourhood and I have rediscovered it's beauty.
 Although it isn't a rural area it has lots of green open spaces,  parks , little streams and a mountain nearby which is really fantastic as you can leave the urban network of the area and find yourself in the countryside  within minutes.
I'm posting some pictures of my walks and also of my May wreath and flowers from my pots . I love the bright colours and the abundance of  greenery  .

Λαμπάδες για το Πάσχα 🐇🐰🐣🐥Easter fun crafts

• Λαμπαδιτσες και πασχαλινά πλασματακια για σήμερα.  Το Πάσχα κοντοζυγωνει και δεν θα σας άφηνα έτσι χωρίς μερικές απλές ιδέες για να φτιάξετε τις λαμπάδες σας έστω και σε συνθήκες καραντίνας. 😕.

• Λοιπόν ήμουν τυχερή , η απλά προνοητικη και είχα πάρει μερικά  όμορφα,  πλακέ - που είναι  της μόδας,  αρωματικά κερια λίγο πριν τα πράγματα αλλάξουν και περιοριστουμε στην οικία μας. Βέβαια για όσες δεν έχετε κάποιο κερι-λαμπάδα  τώρα στο σπίτι,  πιστεύω  ότι θα μπορέσετε να βρείτε σε κάποιο super market. Συνήθως πουλάνε και μεγάλα κεριά,  οπότε  θα βρεθεί λύση. 
• Τι κάνουμε.  Ψάχνουμε τα συρτάρια και τα ντουλάπια με τα διάφορα είδη για ράψιμο η χειροτεχνίες και σίγουρα θα βρεθούν πολλά και διάφορα χρήσιμα  πραγματάκια.  Όπως μικρά κομμάτια ύφασμα,  κορδέλες,  νήματα,  κουμπιά, χάντρες και ίσως κάποια διακοσμητικά στοιχεία. Μικρά ξύλινα αντικείμενα
• η μεταλλικά η υφασμάτινα από παλιές χειροτεχνίες η πράγματα που φύλαξαμε γιατί δεν είχαν κάποια άμεση χρήση.

• Εκεί αρχίζει το παιχνίδι και η διασκέδαση! 😍. Μπορείτε να ντυσετε την λαμπάδα με ύφασμα, αφήνοντας αρκετό περιθώριο στο πάνω μερος για να μην καεί το ύφασμα με την  φλόγα του κεριού. Να προσθέσετε κορδέλες στο πάνω και κάτω  μέρος, στρασακια,  φιογγακια και να κολλήσετε επάνω ένα στοιχείο που ταιριάζει  στο χρωμα και το στυλ.

• Για μια κυρία η ένα νεαρό κορίτσι μια λαμπάδα σε vintage διάθεση είναι μια ωραία επιλογή και μπορεί να την στολισει και μετά το Πάσχα .
•  Οι λαμπάδες για αγόρια και κύριους είναι πιο λιτές και σε γκρι, μπλε , λευκές -μπεζ
• Αυτες λοιπον ειναι οι λαμπαδιτσες που έφτιαξα σημέρα για να σας δείξω. Ρομαντικές και vintage.  Μου αρέσουν όπως βγήκαν και χαίρομαι πολύ που κατάφερα να τις φτιάξω με υλικά  που είχα στο σπίτι. 
• Ακολουθούν φωτογραφιες από κάποια μικρά πασχαλινά  πλάσματα που εμφανίζονται κάθε Πάσχα στο σπίτι μου και μου αρέσουν τρελά.  Μου αρέσουν ιδιαίτερα  όταν είναι όλα μαζί, μια ανέμελη παρέα.  

• Γειά σας για τώρα. Να προσέχετε  και να χαμογελάτε με την πρώτη ευκαιρία,  όσο μικρή κι αν είναι .

Coffee Anyone?

I’m opening my little blog window today to welcome you in for some coffee and cake or tea and cookies. 

                                                                  Whatever pleases you! 

 At these crazy and scary times of lockdown, social isolation and distancing, we need to have something pleasant to look forward to during the endless hours of being ‘locked in’, and worrying about the future.  Scientists say that we need to have a daily routine to keep us occupied and make us feel less anxious.

My routine includes some ‘me’ time, drinking my favourite coffee in a pretty, welcoming, and colourful environment.  

  When the weather is good , I’m really happy to go out on my balcony and sit among the flower pots , feel the sun on my face and sip my aromatic , filter coffee.  You don’t need much to feel good. Just take some time to create a pretty ‘scenery’ for you, a cosy, sweet place  at home. The right matching of colours can work miracles. Colours can calm you down. 

  I adore pastel colours, most shades of pink, red, light green, off whites, light blues and so many more.

In the pictures that follow, I have set up the scene for my morning coffee on the balcony, surrounded by lots of greenery, flowers (mainly artificial ones) wreathes, dream catchers and of course my favourite china and homemade cakes. 

I hope that you like it and that I’ve given you some ideas to create your ‘happy’ corner at home to make these days less stressful and more optimistic.
